Located 5 minutes from the Saint-Jérôme university campus and the Simone Veil high school, in a peaceful suburban setting with unobstructed views and no neighbours in sight, this beautiful detached house is perfect for a family, a two-generation residence or a rental investment (primary residence with additional income).
This quiet, airy, predominantly suburban neighborhood with its many green spaces takes its name from Monsieur Morlan, a large landowner who owned most of the land in the neighborhood, the name having been changed over time to Merlan. The district runs alongside Avenue du Merlan, and features a number of buildings with completely different names: among them, the Sainte-Marthe basin (which treats the water distributed to the whole city). It also serves the science and law faculties of the University of Aix-Marseille, located in the neighboring Saint-Jérôme district. Conversely, and paradoxically, other buildings not located on these sites bear the district’s name: for example, the Centre urbain du Merlan (which includes the Théâtre du Merlan), and the Bibliothèque du Merlan, located in the Saint-Barthélémy district. The square was once home to a number of mills, which have now been renovated and used as student accommodation.
